Supermodel, Actress, TV Host, Author. Whatever you label her, April Scott is keeping busy and undoubtedly playing her cards right. One of People Magazine’s 100 Most Beautiful, MAXIM’s Hot 100, and Stuff Magazine’s 100 Sexiest Women; this small town Missouri girl is making a big splash in Hollywood. You might have seen her on the cover of the 2008 MAXIM celebrity calendar, or on shows like CSI Miami, Entourage, or on the big screen as the new “Daisy Duke” in, Dukes of Hazzard: The Beginning. This young lady is now adding author to her resume with the release of her first book entitled, Behind the Briefcase: The Unauthorized Guide to Deal or No Deal. Behind the Briefcase, offers readers exactly that, a behind the scenes glimpse at what really goes on backstage on the hit NBC gameshow, Deal or No Deal. Scott dishes on everything from Howie Mandel to the high heels; with a special section on how to be hired as a “Briefcase Babe,” and insider tips on being chosen as a contestant. And April knows what she’s talking about. Prior to her film career, she was Briefcase Model 14 for 38 episodes. And with entertainment shows like Extra, Access Hollywood, Entertainment Tonight, Inside Edition, and the National Enquirer running stories on her; it seems like she is already stirring up a little controversy in Hollywood. “A little controversy never hurt anyone,” April jokingly responds, when asked if she had ever anticipated that the book release would attract so much attention. “I’m thrilled that the media has taken such an interest in my book. But, I didn’t expect them to view it as “controversial.” I was just being honest. I wrote it for the fans of the show and for the thousands of girls who have emailed me asking for advice on how to become a model on the show. And I’m so excited to share it with them.” When she’s not busy working, April enjoys watching classic movies, (Dr. Strangelove, A Clockwork Orange, Full Metal Jacket, and Scarface are some of her favorites). She also likes cooking, and spending time with her teacup poodle,“Jewels.” And she’s developed quite an appetite for Texas Hold ’Em over the past few months. “I’ve played in a couple of celebrity tournaments, and I’m playing in the WPT Invitational at Commerce Casino in March, so, I’ve been watching a lot of “Poker After Dark” to help me with my game.” Fairly new to tournament play, April has been a fan of poker for quite some time. “I actually learned poker from my dad when I was six years old. He used to let me join some of his home games with my uncles and cousins. I’ve always enjoyed it as a hobby, and I really admire the pros who do it so well.” As for the upcoming year, April has three films being released, two comedies: The Penthouse, and I Do…I Did, and a horror film, Nite Tales. And she has the leading female role in all of them. You can also watch her hosting her own show on the Octane Network. As for any words of wisdom for girls who might want to follow in her footsteps, she had this to say…“I really like to encourage people to go after their dreams whatever they may be. I’ve never been of fan of backup plans. I figure, whether you want to be a professional poker player, or a model, actress, whatever; you should just go for it. All in! All the way!”
