Million Dollar Heater Poker Series Returns To Beau Rivage (Jan 4-15)

By Staff

The popular Million Dollar Heater poker series is returning to the Beau Rivage Resort & Casino in 2024. On its Facebook page, The Beau announced “The Heater Poker Tournament is back and BIGGER than ever on January 4-15! Over $3,000,000 in guaranteed prize pools!” Full Schedule.

The $400 Buy-in “Double Bag Bonus” opening event boasts a $1,000,000 Guarantee and offers 6 starting flights beginning January 4th at 11 a.m.

In 2023, Pensacola, FL resident Benjamin Bell topped a 3,870 player field in the series opener to claim first prize and $163,425.

The 2024 MDH $1,200 Main Event offers 4 starting flights. Flights A and B are scheduled for Thursday, January 11th, and Friday, January 12th at 11:00 a.m. Flights C and D are set for Saturday, January 13th at 11:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., with a Day 2 Restart on Sunday, January 14th at 4:00 p.m. The Final Table will play out on Monday, January 15th at 1:00 p.m.

Last year 1,074 entrants created a $1,127,000 prize pool in the Main Event. New Orleans resident and Beau Rivage regular Kooroush Ghaedi was awarded top spot and $144,384 after a three-way-chop.

Accused cheater Mike Postle shocked the poker world when it was revealed he had made the final table of the $1,200 Main Event, with $208,400 up top. The 20-year poker pro was accused of wearing a disguise and registering under a fake name, neither of which turned out to be true. An attempt to confiscate his winnings to satisfy a default judgment in a Defamation lawsuit he filed and abandoned due to conflicts with his legal representation, fell short.

After the Beau Rivage paid Postle for his 7th place finish, MGM Resorts International banned him from their properties and confiscated Rewards he had earned on his Players Card.

Rounder Life Media was banned by the Beau after a “firestorm” of negative publicity emerged on Twitter when it revealed Postle signed “Mike Postle” on his final table bag, not Mike Lawrence as reported by Beau Rivage’s paid media outlet GulfCoastPoker.net.

Two weeks ago the player poker training site owner Bart Hanson claimed “was a losing player” until he could see the cards, navigated his way through 522 entries at the Ebro Card Casino in Ebro, Florida, before exiting in 9th spot, marking the third consecutive final table he’s made in the only large field events he’s played since 2019.
