Reporter’s Errors Leads To Misreported Facts In Postlegate

An Industry Veteran’s Error Leads Reputable Media Outlets Awry

By Evert Caldwell, Rounder Life News Team

Update : KICKASSPOKER reporter Haley Hintze added an update to her article

Panama City Beach, FL – Oops she’s done it again !

Haley Hintze, a veteran poker industry news reporter, can’t seem to get her facts straight.

Hintze recently penned an article on kickasspoker.com related to Defendant Michael Postle’s response to the class action lawsuit filed on behalf of Veronica Brill, et al.

In the article, Hintze reports that RounderLife published a “subtly edited” version of Postle’s response and it was “likely not in its entirety the document submitted to other parties in the case.”

Hintze also claims to have uncovered “documentation” showing proof Postle is more than a former associate of Rounder, even going so far as to suggest he is “the author of the site’s pro-Postle content.”

To be clear, and in direct contrast to what Hintze is claiming, RounderLife received and published the exact same document sent to other parties in the case. RounderLife received its copy several hours after the document had already been submitted to the Court on the afternoon of March 24th, 2020.

RounderLife has never altered any Court document. The only difference between the document Rounder published and the officially FILED version is the “Proof of Service”, and TIME stamp which is added once the document is officially entered into the filing system. Both documents are available for comparison below.

RESPONSE DOCUMENT POSTED BY ROUNDERLIFE    |  OFFICIAL FILED RESPONSE

The document Hintze published excerpts from, on the other hand, appears to be an alternate draft of the response. Hintze mistakenly believed the document she possessed was the official document filed, leading her to insinuate that RounderLife was engaged in some type of misinformation campaign.

What’s “peculiar”, is that if the draft Hintze held was sent from Postle’s ‘camp’, it would only have been sent to attorneys involved in the case, specifically Michael Lipman (Stones), Richard Pachter (Kuraitis), and Mac VerStandig (Plaintiffs). Why would any of these attorneys then send an “unofficial” document to Haley Hintze if they knew it wasn’t going to be filed ? Who would have sent it ?

Since the evidence shows Rounder reported the correct document, is it now fair to ask if Hintze “subtly edited” the document she published ? Is it “peculiar” that she also obtained a motion that “had not been docketed” ?

As a member of the media, Hintze receiving a copy of the officially filed version is understandable, but why is she posting a different version online ? Maybe the “media” will dig in, but don’t hold your breath.

Hintze alludes to a roundermagpro@gmail.com email included in the document she published as a “gotcha” moment. She apparently believes this is proof Postle is more than an associate of RounderLife and possibly “the author of the site’s pro-Postle content.” Although the rounderlifemagpro email shows there was an association, which has never been denied, that email is Postle’s personal email, not one assigned to him by RounderLife. ‘News Flash’ Ms. Hintze, anyone, even you, can google gmail.com and create a roundermagpro or similar gmail account.

We’ve previously addressed and acknowledged the fact that Postle indeed was provided with a postle@rounderlife.com email over ten years ago. That email was disabled sometime in 2010, and hasn’t been activated since.

The plan at the time was for him to contribute a monthly article and introduce Rounder to online and casino advertisers with whom he was known to have personal relations. We had similar arrangements with numerous other pros and industry veterans. However, as was the case with many, he wasn’t able to find the time to meet the deadlines required for article submissions.

Postle continued to attend Rounder events when schedules permitted, and always helped out any way he could, but he was never an owner, nor was he ever compensated other than being provided with Rounder branded merchandise.

Rounder Life, because of its prior relationship with Postle, is now in a unique position, in that Postle trusts us enough to talk openly about the case. We’ve interviewed him extensively and everything he’s asked us to look at has turned out to be exactly what he’s claimed, and much of what we’ve uncovered flies in the face of what’s been reported.

For Example He Stated And We Have Verified Through Research And Actual Interviews :

1) The Numbers are way off
2) He played extensively at other casinos during the ‘alleged cheating’ time period
3) Numerous persons in the lawsuit played in a game he hosted at another casino during this time
4) He played less in the summer of 2019 due to travel (daughter was with her mother for summer), and 10 day bedrest in July due to recurring blood clot
5) Not only did he not cheat Kevin “Racks”, he made an extra effort to avoid playing pots with him, and even busted out of one of the sessions

Despite readily available facts to the contrary such as Postle busting out of a session “Racks” played, some made the hideous claim “he cheated a dying man”, and many others continue to repeat it as if it’s factual.  * A detailed report on these sessions will be released in an upcoming article.

Did Joey Ingram Accuse Mike Postle Of “Ripping Off” Kevin Racks ?

It’s actually fascinating to see how those convinced Postle cheated, including some media outlets, are ignoring easily verifiable facts, and clinging to the belief that since RounderLife is reporting something different than what they’ve reported or believe, Postle must run the site.

Now even one of the most reputable sources in the industry is spreading this FALSE spin.

In an article published late Wednesday (March 25, 2020) on Pokernews.com, Mo Nuwwarah reported : “Kickass Poker outlined the situation in full. Turns out, Postle altered the documents and may have posted them himself on Rounder Life Magazine.

We don’t know Mo, nor are we aware of why he’s opted to disparage RounderLife. It is however, another example of just how lazy some in the media are. Mo could have easily contacted Rounder and we would have let him know that Haley confused her copy of Postle’s response as the official document, which completely distorted her reporting.

Everything RounderLife has reported regarding this case has been factual.

To this point, we know of no person or media source who has put forth a scintilla of evidence to refute any of the facts RounderLife has reported. Instead there seems to be a concerted effort to just try to discredit the source.

A key problem with that strategy, is that it doesn’t matter who reports the facts, when they’re true.

More Questionable Reporting By Hintze

In another article Hintze penned, “The Michael Postle Cheating Case And The Search For The Smoking Gun“, she once again ignores the facts altogether.

She theorizes that Postle “frantically” swiping his cards across the in-table sensor amounts to “the smoking gun“. Why Postle would need his own cards to read if he was cheating is a question only the deepest conspiracy theorists could possibly answer.

She makes her “smoking gun” claim based on her belief that the dealers have no way of knowing if a player’s cards are being properly read (by the rfid reader), so how could Postle possibly know.

Haley Hintze – “The dealer has no direct knowledge of what’s going on regarding the live stream.”

Anyone who has spent an ounce of time watching the Stones Live streams is aware that the dealers are wearing headsets, and from time to time receive communication from the control room to alert a player if he needs to re-swipe his cards over the reader.

Dealer Prompts Player To Swipe Cards

Hintze’s complete lack of knowledge on this basic fact, raises doubt about her ability to “investigate” more complex issues in the case, such as is evident in her bungled reporting on the Postle response outlined above.

Her response to the video was that it (video) wasn’t out when she wrote her article, and it was also from another hand.

The video evidence is available for anyone who cares to investigate. Does the fact that she didn’t take the time to research excuse her ignorance in the matter ?

As far as her pointing out that the video was from another hand, what difference does it make what hand it’s from ?

She said “The dealer has no direct knowledge of what’s going on regarding the live stream.”

She then sums up her theory, “This, in my opinion, absolutely incontrovertible, and it is indeed the smoking gun.”

After we point out her blunder, she actually tries to change the context of her quote from “the dealer has no direct knowledge” to “the dealer shouldn’t know.”

Haley Hintze – “The quote is correct though. The dealer shouldn’t know that the cards weren’t picked up by the scanner unless notified from backstage.”
