Remarks about Postle undercut claims

Did he, or didn’t he?

A core accusation in the cheating allegations involving poker pro Mike Postle is that he only played at Stones Gambling Hall in Citrus Heights, Calif. According to someone in management at another California casino, however, Postle played at the unnamed venue on a regular basis. The manager, following advice of the casino’s attorney, remains anonymous and declined an interview.

The accusations regarding Postle have led to a $30 million lawsuit brought by 24 players, who maintain they suffered financially from his alleged cheating. Both Stones and Postle are defendants in the suit. The plaintiffs say Postle was given information about their hole cards during a series of live cash games that were streamed.

It’s estimated Postle won over $250,000 during the games. The lawsuit also says Postle only played poker at Stones during the streamed sessions and almost never played in other games when the stream was done.

The manager of the second casino has said Postle played hundreds of hours at his place of employment during the time period it’s alleged he didn’t play anywhere but Stones. In a text message, the manager went on to say he’s “rooting for Mike to have his day to shine.”

A third defendant named in the suit is Justin Kuraitis, the poker room manager at Stones. The plaintiffs allege Kuraitis covered up the alleged cheating, thereby enabling it to last for a much longer time.

While it remains to be seen whether or not Postle cheated in cash games at Stones, there’s no denying he’s had success on the tournament circuit. To date, Postle has earned $536,542 playing in tourneys. His best live performance, as far as winnings, came via a triumph in a $1,500 NLH competition at the 2007 Gold Strike World Poker Open in Tunica, Miss. For the showing he was paid $118,743.

Postle cashed 10 times at live tournaments in 2019.
